Laura Lian sculptures are available in bronze, resin and ceramics.  Laura studied painting and printing at Byam College of Art, London in 1975 and Ceramics at Chelsea School of Art from 1976 – 1979.  She bacame a full time professional sculptor in 1988.

Laura’s portfolio is prolific and spans a great range of subjects from wildlife, busts and profiles of famous people such as the Queen Mother and sports and rock stars, life sculpture, religious icons, plaques and  public commissions, such as the Millenium Bridge in Wiltshire, Metal Fiber Optics in public houses “The Ledger Pub in London and Wilmslow.  Laura has also won a competition for public work for a relief sculpture for the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.


LAURA’S COMMISSIONS

Laura designed the famous U2 bands’ plaque which was sold at auction for £22,000 on behalf of the Nordoff-Robbins Trust to Dermot Desmond.

2006 – Noroff Robbins/”Eagles Band” portrait in relief for Silver Clef Awards.

2008- Relief Logo for “Hard Days Night Hotel”, Liverpool, Portrait of The Beatles.

2009 – John Lennon bust sold to Sharon Osborne at Nordoff Robins charity event.

2009 – John Lennon bust sold to the  Princes Trust for £5,000.


Laura has made approximately £80k for various  charities over the last six years ! and has also sold at Christies and Bonhams.

Laura designed this logo for the hotel in steel and resin in Jan 2008 to show their logo on 3 dimensions.  The framework is made of steel and the portraits cast in resin with silver finish.  Laura loved the beatles in her youth and found it a pleasure to this for the hotel.

Laura made this bronze sculpture to help raise awareness of the dwindling population of the tiger.  Laura donates to Born Free as she believes in what they are doing.  They want animals to be in their natural environment and help to keep them from leaving our planet altogether.

Laura was commissioned by Richmond Architects in 1988 to design and make Art Deco Panels for the Dorchesters’ Health Spa.

She made the large relief panel in clay for casting fibrous plaster.  It was finished and placed on site.  There were 6 small panels that were placed in the corridors.
